Japanese Girl's Day

Danielle's Mum is called Inmi. She came to talk to us about Girl's Day.

Saturday 3 March is Girl's Day in Japan.

It is called
Hina-matsuri.

The girls are wished good health and happiness.

Saya's Mum is called Kaoru. She was born in Japan.

Kaoru celebrated every Girl's Day with her family.

Danielle showed us some special dolls called hina.

Here are the Prince and Princess.

Saya showed us a special decoration that you can hang up in your house.

The pink flowers are peach blossom.

We listened to a special song on the data projector and it had pictures to tell us more about Girl's Day.

Thank you Inmi and Kaoru for visiting Room 1 and for telling us about Hina-matsuri.

Happy Girl's Day Danielle, Saya, Kayelyn and Jessica!

We are looking forward to Boy's Day on May 5.
